Vaccine Eligibility in NC Now Includes People 16 and Older

An article by WCNC Charlotte titled "Everyone 16 & Older in NC Will be Eligible for the COVID Vaccine This Week
" reported that North Carolina has moved into Group 5 vaccinations after making the COVID-19 vaccine available for people 16 and older on April 7.
After having vaccinated 18% of its adult population, North Carolina has expanded vaccine eligibility as the state moves into the final stage of its rollout plan. According to infectious disease expert Dr. David Priest, county doctors are working tirelessly to offer as many vaccination appointments as possible, "We are very much continuing to follow that to make sure we have equitable distribution of vaccines in all of our communities," he says.
Publix, Walgreens, Harris Teeter, CVS, and health providers like Atrium Health and Novant Health are among the establishments that will be distributing the vaccine in Mecklenburg County. The Mecklenburg County health department will also take new appointments every Wednesday, starting at 8:30 am.

or calling the county's vaccine hotline at 980-314-9400.
